Safeguarding Policy

Our commitment

NABA is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and adults at risk who take part in our events, youth hub, mentoring and community programmes. Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility, and it comes before any other consideration in our work.

What this means in practice

• Everyone working directly with children or vulnerable adults is subject to appropriate background checks (PVG, where applicable).
• Staff, volunteers, and mentors receive safeguarding guidance before taking part in programmes involving young people.
• We have a named safeguarding lead who any concern should be reported to.
• All concerns are recorded, taken seriously, and, where necessary, escalated to the relevant statutory authorities.
